Barriere Minor Ball tourney this weekend

Last week Barriere Minor Ball hosted three games.

On Monday, May 1, the Barriere Bruins played the Barriere Cedar Kings U16 girls in a very entertaining game.  The Bruins prevailed 10-4.  Barriere pitcher Georgia Clough and Garner Ransome combined 14 strikeouts.  James Celesta hit the first home run of the season, he turned an inside fastball and hit a mile, just inside the left field foul line.  Justice Wassmer and Amanda Huber each had an RBI (run batted in) in the Bruins well rounded offensive.

Mackenzie Ransome pitched a complete game for the girls striking out six in the loss.  Pamela Lefeuvre and Mackenzie Ransome each hit triples in the third inning, getting the Barriere girls off to a 3-0 lead.

On Tuesday, the Barriere Stamer Logging U12 team played the Kamloops U14 Girls.  The Kamloops team prevailed in a lopsided victory.  The Barriere Team is preparing for its first tournament of the season over the upcoming Mother’s Day weekend.

On Wednesday, the Kamloops Nova visited the Barriere Bruins.  The Bruins won 8-1 in five innings.  Kamloops was limited to two hits, while Barriere pitchers Georgia Clogh and Garner Ransome combined for 12 strikeouts.  Ty Hartman led the offesnsive, with the Bruins second home run of the season.  The team had hits from Georgia Clough, Amanda Huber, Liam Hunt, Nathan Meller, Adam Gordon and Garner Ransome.
